Rescue A Hero: Corrupt Honest Awake Album Launching

I recently met this Cebuano-based indie rock band known as Rescue A Hero! Their songs got a hint of jazz, blues, hip hop and noise! The group is composed of 4 friends who met and formed the band in mid 2007. They will be releasing their very 1st album this November 26, 2011! Let’s support local bands in helping them achieve their dreams!

What’s different on this band among others? They have recorded their songs in their own bedrooms with the DIY (Do It Yourself) or die mantra. Their music can be downloaded for FREE and can be found on their website: http://rescueahero.com. Why don’t you check it now? Read more…

Ogie Alcasid Promotes Latest Album In Cebu

Last Saturday, I had a great view of watching Ogie Alcasid sing live at the Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu while he serenades Ayala shoppers and some spectators with his latest album “Ngayon at Kailanman: A Tribute to George Canseco” featuring its carrier single, “Yakap”. This is under Universal Records and produced by Ito Ripadas.

It’s my first time to see him in person and having seen him live singing those OPM songs would make me tell you, he is a music genius, a good singer, and definitely an entertainer (with his jokes apart)! He could be one of the pillars in the music and entertainment industry with full blast composition hits of OPM songs! He is indeed a successful man in his own endeavor.

Ayala Center Cebu has again able to showcase its prowess in giving it’s shoppers what they deserve for their purchase. A serenade from Ogie Alcasid perhaps Read more…

Universal Records proudly presents Ogie Alcasid’s album release for 2010, “Ngayon at Kailanman : A Tribute to George Canseco”. Listen to this treasure trove of immortal classics enhanced and beautifully interpreted by the soothing and emotional vocal performance of Ogie Alcasid. A truly inspiring tribute to the artistic legacy of George Canseco.

George Canseco was a prolific composer, lyricist, songwriter – one of the greatest the music industry has ever produced. He started writing songs when he was 20 and had written about 300 songs, some of these movie themes and ballads that are now considered OPM classics. Canseco’s music career spanned almost four decades and his compositions were interpreted by the country’s top recording artists like Basil Valdez, Kuh Ledesma, Sharon Cuneta, Regine Velasquez, Pilita Corrales, Dulce, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Leah Navarro, Martin Nievera among other top singers. We Will Rise Again by Raki Vega

This is a very inspiring song just in time with our transition to a new government. The music and lyrics signifies unity, peace, love and harmony for all of us Filipinos. What I’m so proud of is that the original song was performed by the Cebuana Diva, Raki Vega as her latest single distributed by 22 Tango Records. The song is written and composed by award-winning songwriter Jude Gitamondoc.

The song brings a very meaningful message that we can’t simply rely our future to whoever is leading the nation but we should do our part to really do something good for our country. Read more…

Compared in the past, downloading music right now is very fast because of the presence of the internet. The music distribution has a vast array of supports and filters and is really accessible to a lot of users specially those who have internet. Although, many illegal activities also coupled with this technology boosted industry, still it has become popular and even uncontrollable. Copyright issues and lawsuits are known cases against internet companies filed by record label companies.

Though, many find the internet as a new avenue to share their music and be known instantly to the world. They can showcase their compositions and their own record through self promotion online with the different social sites just to gain exposure.
