SM City Cebu and IMAX Theater

It is now official that SM City Cebu will open it’s IMAX Theater on July 9, 2010 featuring the most talked about movie in the previous months, AVATAR (in 3D). This will be the first IMAX theater outside Metro Manila (the first is in SM MOA) and the 3rd IMAX Theater in the country (Philippines).

An IMAX Theater has a screen with a height of 14 to 24 meters. Regular cinemas only have about eight to 10 meters. Here in SM City Cebu, it is a 450-seater IMAX theater. If you are talking about the ticket price, it might be around P300 to P400. Could be  less P50 to P100 compared to Manila’s price.

The Pre-launch party of IMAX in which fashion personalities and Cebu bloggers were invited  is quite successful though the event started late. There was a fashion show that features the works of known Read more…

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

When will this New Moon movie from the Twilight Saga series be shown in theaters here in the Philippines? I think, play dates will be around November 2009. I can’t wait to see this movie! The Twilight Saga 2 (informal title). I will be drooling my eyes over those hot male actors of the movie. Let them get featured!

I’ve finished the New Moon novel by Stephanie Meyer just last year of December 2008 and I think, I’ve got to read it again to refresh the scenes at least days ahead before seeing the Twilight Saga: New Moon movie myself. It is one of my mostly read novels and I’ve got all sets already! Done reading it! LOL. The movie, New Moon is one thing to look forward to!

OQ picks:

Of course, what to expect in the movie? The guys of New Moon! Read more…

Twilight Saga

I just read Stephanie Meyer’s 2nd book, NEW MOON and I’m almost finished with her 3rd one, ECLIPSE. Soon, I will be caught on her 4th book, Breaking Dawn. I think I have found a new drug that is making me addicted! Reason that I have not kept a balance diet in taking my breaks to munch something edible. EDWARD CULLEN and BELLA SWAN, the two main characters of her books are the culprits of why I forgot myself to the real world of work! It’s so bizarre that it affected me so much that I call every appealing guy I see, Edward! Why vampires do permeate into my hypothalamus?! I’m hallucinating! Damn, can someone slap me?!

Love of Siam (LOS)

Through the ages of mankind, the topic of LOVE is always been a favorite preference of any piece or work of art! Be it romantic love, familial love or friendship love. It’s because LOVE is one of the foundation why we keep breathing and living in this world full of surprises. No matter what medium it is conveyed, the theme of love always moved people. It’s powerful and it’s domineering.

I stumbled one time reading comments on some sites and learned that many Rainbow advocates and supporters had watched the movie: Love of Siam. It is a Thai romantic-drama film. I hope this film would be shown here in CEBU’s prime cinemas to cater our LGBT communities within the locality. It has been part of the Cinemanila 2008’s South East Asia (SEA) Film Competition. There is one scene that is a focal point of controversy (watch video below). Read more…

Watch the trailer

Me and a close friend went to see MAMA MIA after we dined for our team mates’ treat for pizzas! We’ve long been waiting for this movie. The trailer shows that it’s a very entertaining movie but still clueless on what it has to offer. Fortunately, it’s our last day of work and we ought to give ourselves some eye-candies after a busy week! All I can say for the movie as a whole, very IMPRESSIVE! And Meryl Streep (Donna), is one diva. She deserves another OSCAR for this!
