Embracing Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort
August 1, 2009-If you’re going to an island, it is expected that there is always lots to discover. You’re bound to achieve and experience the vacation you deserve with full of serenity and tranquility far from the busy city life! No worry to find where but just here in Cebu! OQ is featuring the beckoning charm of the 24-hectare, coral island, SUMILON Bluewater Island Resort.

As promised, I will be showcasing what I discovered in Sumilon Island. It’s been a dream fulfilled when the island that I used to see and pass-by while I’m traveling for a home trip to Dumaguete city from Cebu city is now at my hands and the feeling to be within the island is definitely an unforgettable experience for a lifetime!
Let the queer start the vacationary (vacation+story) details of this special trip to Sumilon Bluewater island resort. It’s exceptional as I was with the young, vibrant and fun group, my fellow Cebu Bloggers on the trip. And note, this accommodation is a complimentary treat for us all! Definitely, queer lovin’ it!
Getting to the Sumilon Island
*We were picked by van vehicles provided by the island resort itself at round 6:30 am at the lobby of SM City Cebu-Northwing. Yeah, we started the day right early!

*We took our breakfast at the happy bee, JOLLIBEE-Carcar branch, courtesy still of Sumilon Island resort thru Mr. Ruben Licera, Jr.
*We were heading to Oslob, Cebu where the secluded beckoning resort island afloat in the bluewater of Sumilon Island. This is located at the southeastern tip of the province of Cebu. Trip would take around 3 to 4 hours at your most convenient travel time.

*We arrived at their mainland receiving area around 11:30 am in Bancogon, Oslob. Their hospitable staffs gave lemon grass refreshments and clean cold towel for all of us to have a fresh look while gazing at the island we will soon to invade!

*We had our scenic aquatour thru transportation pumpboats from the mainland going to the secret haven of Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort which will take 15 minutes. And voila! I first step foot of the island thereafter!

You may check your online booking here.

Accommodation
*Dining- the resort got different palatable servings of both local and international cuisines. Obvious in their dining area or the Island Pavilion is the octagonal “nipa” thatched roofing which is very native-looking. It’s an open-air area that is wifi-ready as well. I could say, it’s a perfect spot overlooking the panoramic picturesque view of the ocean and the mainland Cebu! And here’s our fiesta eating galore at all aspects of meal and refreshment for us to lavish with the masterpiece of Chef de Partie Buddy Amodia.

*Recreation Activities- we enjoyed all possible island endeavors as much as we could. Here are the highlights on what you could do in your all-day free time while in Sumilon Island.
-Snorkeling to see the wonderful sea creatures and explore their wonderful coral reefs.

-Kayaking and canoeing at the island’s lagoon with high mangroves that surrounds it. The still green waters reminds me of the movie, lake placid but you will definitely have a fun time chatting with your mates while in the verge of paddling around the lagoon.

-Fighting with the ocean waves with its sandbar that is thought to change shapes and shift locations depending on the season. We had our extreme fun with what we call “sandstorm” experience while we played with the big waves and strong winds that time.

-Swimming in their infinity pool and relaxing at the Jacuzzi that is just fronting their island pavilion. This one of the perfect nook if you just want to get wet, sexy, and tempting!

-Lounging in their payag-payag if you prefer reading your favorite book or magazine while getting refreshed by its natural wind slap or just taking in a glass of juice while chit-chatting with your vacationmate. You will also have a good spot on the panoramic view of the mainland Cebu.

-Forest hiking is one of the activities you could try and you will be provided with maps to guide you. They’ve got pebbly trails while you are trekking along tall trees, grassy yards, or perhaps, bird watching.

Please visit here for more recreations stuff you may want to try when you visit Sumilon Island.
* Rooms- they have deluxe rooms with their signature private verandas inclusive of lounge bar, mini bar within the room, shower and toilet, ceiling fans, air conditioning units, cabinets, mirror and dresser, room to room telephone. These rooms could accommodate a maximum of 3 guests.
