The video I’m featuring is exposing the unethical medical practice of doctors and hospital staff caught in the act in the operating room at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC), Cebu City. This is a three-minute video footage operation on a 39-year-old homosexual who had left a perfume canister in his anus after a sexual act. Of course, it has to be extracted out from his anus.

What’s unethical on this is that those performing the operation are excessively laughing (as seen in the video) while a number of them and some by-standers (really?) took video of it. It’s like degrading to the one who underwent the procedure for doctors and medstaff making fun while they take out the canister. One of the staff even dared to spray the canister after it has been pulled out. That’s disgusting! Those involved in the procedure are liable for this unethical and medical malpractice! Should the procedure be done privately? Isn’t it should be? Not unless, the patient permits the video documentation, I guess it’s alright!

Hope those in the medical field should take action on such practices. Law makers must implement laws againts it. And let’s all be vigilant on the kind of medical services we are getting. Report whatever violation and malpractice you encounter.
