My New Portable
At last, I just got my new laptop! I bought it in cold cash yesterday. Still Fresh! The price is very affordable and it’s brand new. The model is a Compaq Presario C733TUfrom HP.
I’ve been longing to have my own notebook pc even though I have a desktop pc already (left at my provincial home). Well I think I will give the desktop to my dad already as he is the sole user of it. Good for him. I know, he will be happy for it (hopefully).
Just recently received my retropay from my previous job promotion. And as a remembrance (handuman), I opted to buy this laptop. It was worth the money. I’m not into gaming so I don’t need those expensive ones. Having the basic specs suitable for my needs is ok. With Windows Vista as my operating system, it’s already worth it.
I would like to share the importance of canvassing before buying anything you want. In my case, this portable. It is good not to be too excited in buying the item at first glance. Do not rush or stop at one store only. Find time to visit other stores so you could compare prices, special offers and other freebies you might get on the same items. Stores might have different offers. Just find out the best. And I think, pray for your luck!
At first, I went to Ayala Mall at the HP centre. Found out that they don’t offer a free upgrade to the memory and no free casing and Operating System (OS) are available! That’s totally not worth buying it. I moved to a near-by computer shop, same price and they have free upgrade to the memory, still no free case and OS. Still thinking, if it’s the trend. So I gave a day and gave many thoughts of buying it. Consulted my cousins who are computer mavericks than I am, the specs on the system is too good to be approved.
The next day, I asked a close friend to accompany me to SM Cebu and will do a canvass on the computer stores. We stop at one store that offers a free upgrade to the memory, with free case but no OS and still the same price. So, we drooled to another store, I got the same offer that I had in Ayala. I gave a NO. Finally, we stopped at the last store. This one is suggested by my friend. And it amazed me! Know their offers? (drum rolls, please) Aside from a free memory upgrade to 1GB, free HP laptop case, VISTA starter kit, I will be getting a new Ipod Shuffle for free! Isn’t it a jackpot for me? Great deals and offers! So, that’s the importance of canvassing before buying anything.
One exciting thing happened that day is I almost falter not getting the portable. When I withdraw money from the ATM, I’ve reached the maximum allowed for the day (sigh). Tried 4 different ATMs but still not able to accumulate the desired amount so I could buy it. We went back to the store, asked if we could make a down payment. Well, surprisingly, they are accepting our request. There are only 4 Compaqs available for sale that time and I was the third one to buy it. In a few minutes, the on-display portable was sold too! And many buyers are inquiring for it as well! Just got lucky, good, we were able to get back and took home the portable. Anyway, thanks to BPI’s EPS, I was able to use it for the remaining amount tendered. So I was able to take home the portable.
