Malapascua Island Trip

Posted in February 11th, 2008

Last February 9-10, 2008, my Team (Machogawans) went to Cebu’s Malaspascua Island in Daanbantayan to lavish the white sand beach that the island has to offer. It is our monthly teambonding or General Assembly (GA) and we cherished it all in there!

It is my first time actually but not for others. The trip took 3 hours from our Office in Asia Town IT Park, Lahug, Cebu going to the Maya wharf on a V-hire. Actually, it will take you 4 hours if you are traveling by bus starting from Cebu’s North Bus terminal (consider the bus stops). Along the trip, we took photos inside the van. All I can say, we look good! :) Upon arrival at the wharf, there are mini-boats who will carry passengers leading to the motorized outrigger boats stationed a few meters from the base point as these boats are docked quite far. And I was horrified as the waves are really intensely rippling. Later that we realized, it is just 2-4 feet deep, but still we don’t want to get wet and the WAVES! Heart-pounding! I overcame my fear when I’m at the motorboat and found my comfort though it’s still scary (for me).

Our accommodation is really free as my teammate’s uncle who is a German national happened to own one of the resort and we stayed there for FREE! Lovely! It is a private resort and the place is really beautiful as those yellow bells and Euphorbia flowers surrounding the place add majestic view to it. Since the room is limited for a few people, we brought our tents so could find our night solace as well.

We woked up early morning to see the sunrise and the beauty of the beach’s white sand stretch. The Malapascua island is known as a diving spot and is a shark-infested area. Take note! And it is deemed that Thresher Sharks can just be seen in this area today in the world! And obviously, I took some photos on some resorts of the island. I made a pose at Cocobana Bounty Beach Resort, Daño resort, Sea Explorers, Blue Corals. Other resorts that you could book are Sunsplash Resort, Hippocampus Resort, the MANGROVE ORIENTAL Beach Resort, and Dicks “Malapascua EXOTIC Dive and Beach resort if you want to see those Thresher sharks!

It was indeed a fun GA! The adventure of getting wet with those big wave splash is freaking me out! A free dose of seawater shower while on the boat. So as an advice, put your mobile phones, digital cameras and othe gadgets in a plastic so it won’t get wet! I swear, I’m talking about big splashes!!! And that is enjoyable to experience! We just love to scream!!!

The Queer's Oracle

What’s written will be history. This mundane life of the queer has come to its epitome of metamorphosis. Each daily quest for survival is an important adventure worth to be told. The external forces also form part of the queer’s existence in the struggle to adapt to these conditions. But the inner spring of strength controls the mind, body, and soul. And now you know the secret code of the queer.
